About The Organization

Hope Initiatives Southern Africa – Namibia is a non-governmental organization located in the informal settlement of Tobias Hainyeko Constituency, Kilimanjaro. It was established in Okahandja Park through a soup kitchen initiative in 2003 and was officially registered in 2004 under Section 21 as a non-governmental organization. Its impact extends beyond Windhoek, reaching as far as the Omusati Region. The visionaries and founders, Ms. Patricia Sola and Ps. John Mafukidze, worked together to support the most vulnerable communities, with the aim of protecting the rights of women, children, and men who are unable to support themselves. Their primary purpose was to strengthen families within the informal settlement communities of Windhoek. After 2014, the founders developed a strong desire to expand the organization’s reach and impact by launching a feeding program in the Otjozondjupa Region, specifically in the Vyf Rand informal settlement in Okahandja.

  • Building a model that will break the cycle of hunger and poverty in marginalized communities in Southern Africa.
  • To build a bridge out of HOPELESSNESS by providing food, educational, safety and community empowerment programs to vulnerable children and their families.
  • Hope Change Self-Reliance
